【3/6 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good job everyone! Let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, a summary of today’s Tokyo session.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 157.80. This morning it started around 157.55, but in the early Tokyo session it moved with little momentum ahead of tonight’s US Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP).
However, by the end of the Tokyo session there was a headline that “ strait of Hormuz ship movements have almost completely stopped,” prompting dollar buying. It seems the price may rise about 25 pips from the morning level as we hand over to the overseas session.
Last night it was stopped just below 158, and now the question is whether overseas players will push it higher. Well, with the US employment data coming, it might be hard to buy aggressively…
Now, the points for USD/JPY scalping tonight.
● Movements around the London market open
● Movements after the releases of US Non-Farm Payrolls and US Retail Sales at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East tensions
・Be mindful of statements from US officials

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target moves around each market open plus the moves after the 22:30 releases of US payrolls and retail sales. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” managing these as per theory should be fine. Also, be careful with headlines related to Middle East tensions today as well.
Additionally, the “15-minute chart scalping” for shorts tends to tilt toward safe dollar buying due to Middle East concerns, so take it easy. Tonight I plan to focus on “1-minute scalping.”
Now the overseas session is about to start!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. Focusing on periods with relatively high volatility can dramatically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC-4 during US summer time / UTC-5 during US winter time)
・New York market open time (UTC-4 during US summer time / UTC-5 during US winter time)
Even immediately after the release of US indicators/events, volatility rises and opportunities are plentiful. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread may widen, so the rule is to act only after the spread returns to normal.
Please always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. By knowing the time windows when opportunities appear, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before US indicators/events. If you move against it, you’ll be hit hard. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of brokerages and FX providers.
Of course there are many other points beyond the three above, but I’ve explained the minimum crucial points to focus on when scalping USD/JPY.
