Lecture 3: The Three Elements of Reversal "Wall": Horizontal Lines and Diagonal Lines

Yesterday I said candles are the “last trigger.” But to pull the trigger, you must first set a “target.” The target in trading is the place where the market reverses. That isthe Reversal3elements1st**“wall”**.

■ Max’s history:25years ago, starting from the “Gann angle.” The first conviction I gained as a technical combination was candles and “lines.” Twenty-five years ago, I used the method called “Gann Angle” to achieve results in futures trading.

After that, I conducted my own studies of trendlines and horizontal lines and, after establishing my own decision framework, for more than20years, these have never disappeared from my charts. The concept of lines creating a universal “wall” is so enduring.

 

■The physical reasons your lines don’t work“order collision point”.

 ・Horizontal lines: the wall of past “memory.”

 ・Diagonal lines: the wall of current “momentum.”

Horizontal lines, in particular, are places where many past traders felt strong emotions like “I lost here” or “I took profit here,” and those feelings crystallize into price. Therefore, to break through them requires immense energy, and as a result the rate tends to reverse at that “wall.”

 

■A novice’s trap: lack of reproducibility

 Lines are powerful, but there is one big problem: “Because their drawing and usage involve discretion, reproducibility is hard to achieve.”.

 “Where is the right place to draw?” This hesitation is the reason self-doubt traders cannot break free. In my instruction, I am most careful and thorough about teaching how to judge this “wall.” Autonomous traders use lines not as something that hits, but as a boundary to observe what happens there.
