【3/3 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Alright, let's do dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, a quick overview of today’s Tokyo session.
Currently, the dollar-yen is around 157.35. This morning it started around 157.40, but during the Tokyo session, dollar buying and yen selling were favored due to concerns about Middle East developments. Although there wasn’t a large move, it traded in the high 157 region. There was also a remark from Finance Minister Kanagawa about yen depreciation, but there was almost no reaction.
It looks like we will hand over to the overseas session at roughly the same levels as in the morning.
The headline market is difficult to trade, but please stay alert for sudden changes in Middle East developments today as well.
Now, the points for tonight’s dollar-yen scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 17:00
● Movements near the New York market open around 23:00 (Dow open at 23:30)

Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East developments

Tonight’s “1-minute scalp” is unlikely to have major market-moving data from U.S. indicators or events, so the focus will be on movements around each market open. For users of the “1-minute scalp club,” if you follow the theory and manage positions properly, there should be no problem. Also, headlines related to Middle East developments require attention again today.
Also, the “15-minute scalp,” which is a short-position specialty, tends to lean toward safe dollar buying in geopolitical tensions, so don’t push too hard. Tonight I plan to focus on the “1-minute scalp.”
With that, overseas time will start soon!
Because the profit per scalp is small, people often think there are opportunities around the clock, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC-4 summer / UTC-5 winter)
・New York market open time (UTC-4 summer / UTC-5 winter)
Volatility remains high right after U.S. indicators or events release, providing many opportunities. However, in the minutes immediately after a release, the spread can widen, so always enter after it returns to the normal spread.
Please always check the U.S. indicators and event schedule in advance. Knowing the time periods when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators or events. If you go against them, you will be hit hard. A careless mistake is not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators and event schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course there are many other points, but I’ve shared the essential points you should have in mind when scalping the dollar-yen.
