[2/27 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Thanks for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping tonight as well!
First, here is today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 155.60. The pair started this morning around 156.05, but during Tokyo hours the trend has been stronger with dollar selling and yen buying.
With the possibility of a further Bank of Japan rate hike next month still on the table, the upside for USD/JPY remains heavy. From the morning level, it’s about 45 pips lower as we hand over to the overseas session.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the 17:00 London market open
● Movements after the 22:30 release of the US Producer Price Index
● Movements near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
Other notes ..
・The possibility of another BOJ rate hike next month remains, so upside could stay heavy
—–
Tonight's "1-minute chart scalping" will focus on movements around each market open, plus the movement after the 22:30 US PPI release. For users of the "1-minute Scalping Club," handling it according to the theory should be fine.
Also, the short-only "15-minute Scalping" may have opportunities as upside remains heavy with the possibility of a BOJ rate hike next month. If price action can form around the upper mid-155s, we will enter.
Now, soon the overseas session will begin!
Because the spread is small when scalping, one might think there are opportunities 24 hours a day, but that is not the case. By targeting time periods with reasonably high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight time 16:00– / US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (US daylight time 22:00– / US standard time 23:00–)
Even immediately after US indicators/events, volatility can rise and opportunities increase. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after the spreads return to normal.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the time windows when opportunities come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before US data/events. If you go against it, you’ll be wiped out in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of respective brokers and FX providers.
Of course, there are many other points beyond the three above, but I’ve talked about the minimum points you should grasp when scalping USD/JPY.
