In Tokyo time, as the Nikkei Stock Average fell, dollar selling and yen buying led to the following move to152.85yen. In European time, the dollar/yen initially fell to152.69yen, but after the selling eased, buying returned to the forefront.NYTime,3after the long holiday,NYsentiments were to buy dollars. Following the rise in the previously declining U.S. 10-year yield, the dollar/yen rose to153.92yen. However, failing to break through the key level of154yen, the greenback generally stalled and fell to153.18yen.
Also, talks between the United States and Iran over Iran’s nuclear development progressed, with Foreign Minister Araghchi stating that an agreement on the “guiding principles” had been reached, and he noted that the discussions were “serious and constructive,” easing concerns about the bilateral relationship.
