(Part 2) An Expert Advisor that Chases Profit with Full Force: Its Name is AMSER — Author Interview!
EA that Pursues Profit with All Its Might, Its Name is AMSER
Part 1: Overview and魅了 of AMSER here
Now the second part is finally an interview with the author, Mr. TACA!
(Below Black text: fx-on Blue text: Mr. TACA)
1. You employ seven time-based strategy entries; what kind of verification did you perform before coming up with this?
TACA: Since calculations were mainly in Excel, I don’t have many memories of backtesting or front testing.
I wondered why Westerners base it on 12 rather than 10.
AMSER’s time frames are 24 hours, 60 minutes, 60 seconds, with multiples of 12 as the standard.
I extracted one-minute historical data and analyzed it, but I didn’t find notable correlations between time points.
However, when converting time and minutes to decimal, several times show pronounced correlations.
If you place seven points where one time rises while another falls, a loop that follows each other is constructed.
This is the origin of AMSER.
(fx-on: I’m sorry, it was too advanced to fully understand… I thought there might be advantageous times for entries, but apparently not… It’s not about entry superiority, but about correlations between entries. This is the key to AMSER’s time-based strategy entries.)
2. The number of simultaneous positions in the EA seems to vary with account funds.
When the account balance exceeds 10 million, are there maximum limits on simultaneous positions?
For example, is there a possibility of holding 100 lots at once?
TACA: Entering multiple positions causes order delays.
To reduce order delays, I pursued discretionary VPS selection and EA speed optimization, but
even with optimal VPS achieving extreme speeds, MT4’s limit is about 12 orders per second.
In the EA design, it can hold unlimited positions, but
around 10 positions, and when account funds reach about 40 to 50 million yen, missing executions become pronounced.
Because OANDA Japan’s Basic Course allows multiple sub-accounts,
when funds grow and missed executions increase, distributing across multiple accounts is the best strategy.
(fx-on: I see! So that’s why we recommend or specify OANDA Japan Basic Course & VPS. I believe this is essential for high performance. With fx-on’s forward exceeding 4 million soon, I’d like to watch what happens next.)
From here on, this is not directly related to AMSER, but I asked some questions that you all are eager to know!
1. Please tell us what sparked the creation of the EA and FX trading
TACA: I’ve been trading FX for about ten years, but I kept losing with discretionary trading.
While losing, a strong desire to freely control S/L and T/P quickly grew
So I studied MQL4.
I dream of someday becoming a famous creator like that blue pig or white bear.
(fx-on: You originally traded discretionary, right? That ten years of hardship allowed you to minimize losses now and pursue maximum profits…)
2. There are various FX trading methods; if you have any ideas, methods, or indicators that were particularly useful in EA development, please share
TACA: The first things to consider in creating an EA are: when and how much to place orders, what to do after placing orders, and how to settle; these four points.
AMSER also uses a chandelier trailing stop system in part, which decides both the entry and the settlement, making it a superb system.
It reliably profits with large gains and small losses, achieving a win rate of around 40% while still generating profit.
Thank you.
After long FX experience and research, finally the fruit is this EA.
In TACA’s profile,
“Recent research theme is how to turn 100,000 yen into 10,000,000 yen in one year.”
Many people may feel strong romance in that sentence.
From AMSER’s future and the soon-to-come new works, you’ll want to keep your eyes on it more and more!
