Tokyo time, the USD/JPY declined to around156.51yen as the Nikkei average stayed soft. After equities rebounded, it rose to around156.90yen. In European hours, according to reports, the LDP's favorable position in the 2/8 House of Representatives election polls suggested a yen-selling environment via Takashi trades, and the USD/JPY rose to157.15yen. In New York time, the USD/JPY was2/8ahead of the election, staying largely in the upper-156s156yen area with little movement.
