[2/3 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 155.40. This morning it started around 155.60, but during Tokyo time the flow of dollar buying and yen selling cooled off after the weekend overseas session, showing a slight pullback.
However, the yen’s decline pace remains unchanged on expectations of a Liberal Democratic Party victory, and there was no reaction to Finance Minister Katayama’s yen-weakness remarks. From the early levels, it is expected to fall about 20 pips and transition to overseas trading.
Due to the U.S. government shutdown, tonight’s release of the “U.S. JOLTS Job Openings” has been postponed, giving a sense of material shortage, but how much buying will the overseas traders do after that remains to be seen.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near 17:00 London market open
● Movements near 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
Other notes…
・Expectation of LDP victory
・Postponement of U.S. JOLTS Job Openings due to U.S. government shutdown

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around market opens plus after the 24:00 release of the “U.S. ISM Manufacturing PMI.” For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” if you follow the standard approach, there should be no problem.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping,” which is a short-selling specialty, should be done with caution: given Katayama’s yen-weakness remarks and the unchanged yen-weakness trend on expectations of the LDP victory, don’t push too hard. Tonight I plan to focus on “1-minute scalping.”
And now it’s almost time for overseas hours to begin!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, people often think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that isn’t the case. By aiming for periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I’m targeting are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during U.S. daylight time / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during U.S. daylight time / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. data or events, volatility increases and opportunities are plentiful. However, in the minutes right after an announcement, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after the spreads return to normal.
Always check the U.S. data and event schedule in advance. Understanding the timing of opportunities helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, never position right before U.S. data or events. If you go against them, it’s devastating. A moment can wipe out your stop-loss line. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
U.S. data and event schedules can be checked on the websites of brokers and FX dealers.
Of course there are other points as well, but I’ve discussed the minimum points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
