【★Gold・Largest Volatility in History★】
This week's gold showed remarkable volatility, trading from about $4,700 to $5,600 and moving in price,
and especially on January 29-30, it swung from $5,600 down to $4,700, with each 1-minute candlestick moving by $10 to $30.
Truly the sharpest move in history.
In such a situation, I think most EAs were in a tough spot.
Since January, I had been running a hands-off approach
with the semi-discretionary EA Byakko, and the month-end results were ...
Starting margin of 100,000 yen
Profit of 140,000 yen (maximum 180,000); win rate 140%
Of course there was a scare with five straight losses in that phase, but I made it through safely.
In the end, it did not turn positive and the market closed.
There were moments when nearly all orders slid and the EA was about to be stopped, or I considered changing from a 1:1 ratio with a $10 width to a 15–30 dollar width, 1:1, but since the concept was to find a form that anyone could win with, I endured.
Next week, volatility is expected to remain to some extent, so for now,
I will reset the losing streak to 1 and widen the TPSL until things settle down.
Nevertheless, even with the rapid rise and fall over this past month, I’m glad I created Byakko; it felt right to survive in this market.
You can also view the initial month’s record in the past Investor Guide, so please take a look.
Next month, I aim for the funds started with 100,000 yen to exceed 500,000 yen
and target a 400% return over two months.
