Envelope Counter-Trend EA #4: For People Afraid of Lot Sizes | 3 Recommended Fixed and Upper Limit Patterns (For Beginners)
In the previous article, we organized that daedalus-k-lev8 has a design where the deeper the deviation, the higher the lot size.
This mechanism has the merit of “the deeper you go, the more precisely you aim,”
but it is also a point that some operators find “the increasing lot size is concerning.”
So this time, as a continuation, we briefly summarize three recommended patterns for beginners to avoid confusion (fixed / cap).

1) Conclusion: initially eliminate anxiety with either “fixed” or a cap
If you are afraid of growing the lot size, the action is simple.
・Fix the lot and “do not increase even if it becomes deeper”
or
・Create a cap to “limit only at deeper levels”
With just this, it becomes easier to stabilize both psychologically and operationally.
2) Recommendation ①: Completely fixed (the most reassuring)
【Suitable for】
・Afraid of counter-trend
・First want to observe the behavior
・Concerned about losing streaks or drawdowns
【How to】
Set all LEV1–LEV8 lots to the same value.
【Advantages】
・Risk is easy to read
・Even if the market is volatile, the lot does not increase
【Caution】
・The benefit of “aiming strongly when deeply deviated” is diminished
(However, it is OK as the top-priority first introduction)
3) Recommendation ②: Create only a cap (balanced type)
【Suitable for】
・Want to retain the benefit of lot growth
・But want to limit risk only in deeper levels
【How-to (example)】
LEV1–LEV6 default closer, only cap the lot at LEV7–LEV8.
【Advantages】
・Can usually operate as designed
・Brakes kick in only during “rough market”
【Caution】
・In strong uptrends, prolonged deep deviation reduces the need to counter-trade; consider measures like suspension of operation or time-based restrictions
4) Recommendation ③: Soften the steps (gentle growth)
【Suitable for】
・Fixed feels insufficient
・Want to increase but not suddenly large
【How-to】
Increase the lot as the level rises, but reduce the increment to make the growth smoother.
【Advantages】
・Preserves the design philosophy (aim higher as you go deeper) while reducing aggressiveness
・Reduces perceived stress
【Caution】
・After adjustment, always confirm behavior with a tester (visual if possible)
5) Note: Consider market conditions (range/trend) together
The anxiety of the lot size changes not only by the settings but also by market conditions.
・Range (has ups and downs) → shapes align more easily, easier to operate as expected
・Strong trend (rarely returns) → counter-trading tends to become disadvantageous
Before adjusting the lot, simply arranging the market you operate in (time frame/currency/environment) makes stabilization easier.
Summary: At first, the correct answer is to eliminate fear with the setting
・Initially, eliminate anxiety with either “completely fixed” or a cap
・Once accustomed, adjust in the order of “cap” → “gentle increase”
・Considering market environment (range/trend) together makes it easier to stabilize
