Envelope Counter-Trend EA Sequel: "I touched it but didn't enter?" — How to tell normal/abnormal (lev8/lev10) —
Envelope counter-trend is appealing, but it’s also true that it tends to be shaved by “jumping in as soon as touching the line” or “consecutive entries during a trend.”
In the previous article, to avoid this “counter-trend losing path” with daedalus-k (lev8 / lev10),
we explained the design of “do not enter the moment you touch” and how to choose lev8 / lev10.
This time, as a sequel, we summarize in one diagram how to distinguish “Normal / Abnormal” for a common question after introduction:
“I touched it but didn’t enter—is that abnormal?”
In one diagram, you can tell normal vs. abnormal at a glance.
1) Conclusion: Not entering when touched is basically normal
daedalus-k does not enter just because the price touches the envelope.
First, please look at the flow in the diagram below (4 steps).
2) How to read the diagram: Entry is imagined on the “④ Re-cross” side
This EA is not “touch = immediate entry.” It waits for the following sequence to shape up.
① Touch: touches the envelope
② Break: briefly moves outside the line
③ Rebound: a rebound occurs (momentum starts to slow)
④ Re-cross: crosses the line (the reference) again
→ The guideline is the shape of ④ if you enter
In other words, “Even if ① occurs, not entering” is not abnormal;
often you just haven’t satisfied up to ④ yet.
3) Checks when you think it might be abnormal (only 3)
If you feel you didn’t enter after touching, please confirm only these three points.
【Check ①】Is automatic trading ON
→ If OFF, orders won’t be placed (start here).
【Check ②】Is the market in a persistent trend
→ In a strong trending phase,
“③ rebound → ④ re-cross” is less likely to happen, so entries decrease.
(This is somewhat by design.)
【Check ③】Account StopLevel (minimum stop loss width)
→ Both models have a trailing width of 0.5 pips.
Therefore, if the account’s StopLevel is strict, normal operation may fail.
If you’re worried, we recommend checking behavior once with a strategy tester (visual if possible).

・New to it / scared of counter-trend → lev8
・Want to pull in a bit deeper → lev10
