Envelope Counter-Trend EA #1: "Touched but didn't enter?" — How to distinguish正常/異常 (normal/abnormal) (lev8/lev10) —
Envelope counter-trend trading is attractive, but it is also true that it can be easily shaved off by “entering as soon as you touch the line” or by “consecutive entries during a trend.”
In the previous article, to avoid this “counter-trend losing edge,”
the design of “not entering at the moment of touch” was adopted, and the selection of lev8 / lev10 was organized.
This time, as a follow-up, we summarize in a single diagram how to distinguish normal from abnormal for a common question after introduction
“I touched it but didn’t enter—is that abnormal?”
so that you can tell with a single diagram whether it is “normal / abnormal.”
1) Conclusion: Not entering at touch is normal first
daedalus-k does not enter just because the price touched the envelope.
Please first look at the flow in the diagram below (4 steps).
2) How to read the diagram: Entry is on the “④ Re-cross” side image
This EA is designed not to enter at “touch = immediate entry,” but to wait for the following sequence to “form” the setup.
① Touch: price touches the envelope
② Break: price temporarily moves outside the line
③ Rebound: a bounce occurs (momentum begins to slow)
④ Re-cross: the line (reference) is crossed again
→ This ④ shape is the guideline for entry
In other words, “even though ① occurred, not entering” = not abnormal,
many cases simply haven’t reached up to ④ yet.
3) Checks if you think it might be abnormal (3 points)
If you feel you didn’t enter after the touch, please confirm only the following three points.
【Check ①】Is auto-trading turned ON
→ If OFF, orders will not be placed (start with this).
【Check ②】Is the market in a persistent trend
→ In a strong-trend situation,
“③ rebound → ④ re-cross” is less likely to be established, so entries decrease.
(This is more of a behavior close to the specification)
【Check ③】Account StopLevel (minimum stop loss width)
→ Both models have a trailing width of 0.5 pips.
Therefore, if the account’s StopLevel is strict, normal operation may not occur.
If you’re worried, it’s recommended to confirm behavior once with a strategy tester (visual if possible).
4) Choosing lev8 / lev10 remains the same as the previous article
If you’re unsure, it’s fine to follow the conclusion from the last article.
・First time / afraid of counter-trend → lev8
・Want to pull back one step further → lev10
Summary: What this sequel aims to convey
・Touching but not entering is normal first
・Entry is the image of waiting for the “shape” of ①→②→③→④ to align
・If you’re unsure, just check ON / market environment / StopLevel—the three points
