Envelope counter-trend EA "lev8 / lev10" which one to choose? — [Do not enter with a simple touch] Counter-trend thinking —
Envelope counter-trend is appealing, but the patterns that tend to lose are also clearly visible.
Representative examples are “jumping in the moment of touching the line” and “consecutive entries during a trend.”
The daedalus-k series (lev8 / lev10) adopts a design to avoid these “loss-causing counter-trends,”
by not entering at the moment of touch.
In this article,
- the common logic for both models
- how to choose between lev8 and lev10
will be briefly organized.
--------------------------------
1) Common logic: do not enter immediately on touch
--------------------------------
For both models, entering only happens when the price has touched the envelope is avoided.
After it briefly breaks through a line,
it enters at the timing when a rebound is confirmed and the line is crossed again.
The aim is simple,
- avoid the instantaneous “jump on” when touched
- suppress “consecutive entries” during a trend
These two points.
--------------------------------
2) Three-stage filter: why not enter recklessly
--------------------------------
daedalus-k is not about “winning,”
but rather an approach of “preemptively blocking high-risk entries.”
(1) Stochastic overextension judgment
→ Avoid counter-trends from an intermediate position
(2) Moving average (MA) to prevent rapid-fire entries
→ Once entered, do not enter again until price returns to the average line
(3) Rebound confirmation → re-touch to enter
→ Do not jump on the moment it touches the envelope
--------------------------------
3) lev8 vs lev10: the depth of divergence you can aim for
--------------------------------
The major difference is the depth of divergence that can be waited for in stages.
・lev8: 8-envelope
→ Visualizes shallow to deep divergences in stages. For those who want to test first.
・lev10: 10-envelope
→ Staged judgment up to deeper divergence zones. For those who want to pull one more stage deeper.
The official guideline also positions as,
“lev8: for those who fear counter-trend / want to try first”
“lev10: for those who are accustomed to counter-trend and want to pull deeper”
as its positioning.
--------------------------------
4) Important note (be sure before purchase)
--------------------------------
Both models have a trailing width specification of 0.5 pips.
Therefore, on accounts where the stop level (minimum stop loss width) is set,
they may not operate correctly.
Before installation,
- confirm your account conditions
- verify behavior with strategy tester (visual)
is recommended.
--------------------------------
Summary: which to choose when in doubt
--------------------------------
- If you are new or have experienced losses from consecutive entries → lev8
- If you want to pull one more stage deeper / want finer stage judgments of divergence → lev10
