【1/27 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Now let's go with dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, the summary of the Tokyo session today.
Currently, the dollar/yen is around 154.60. This morning it started around 154.20, but during the Tokyo session it has shown a slight rebound without rate checks or U.S.-Japan coordinated forex intervention. From the Bank of Japan’s reserve movements, it appears there was no actual currency intervention.
Nevertheless, vigilance regarding U.S.-Japan coordinated forex intervention remains high, and the rebound is likely to be slow.
From the morning level, about 40 pips higher, it looks like it will hand over to the overseas session.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the London market open at 17:00
● Movements around the New York market open at 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index is released at 24:00
—–
Other notes ..
・With the FOMC meeting tomorrow, the rebound may be limited
—–
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will focus on movements around each market open, plus the movement after the 24:00 release of the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to the theory should pose no problem.
Also, for the short-only “15-minute scalping,” the caution regarding U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention remains strong, so trying it is worth considering. The setup would be optimal if you wait for a little rebound and can sell near the 155 level.
With that, overseas hours will begin shortly!
Scalping tends to be perceived as having small profit margins, leading people to think there are opportunities 24 hours a day, but that isn’t the case. By targeting times with reasonably high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight time 16:00– / US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (US daylight time 22:00– / US standard time 23:00–)
Volatility remains high and opportunities arise right after U.S. data or events, but in the minutes immediately after a release the spread can widen, so the rule is to always enter after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the U.S. data and event schedule in advance. Knowing the time windows when opportunities will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. data or events. If you move against the trend, there is no mercy. You can be taken to the stop-loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
U.S. data and event schedules can be checked on each brokerage or FX provider’s website.
Of course there are many other points, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should know when scalping USD/JPY.
