[1/26 USDJPY Scalping Points]
Thanks for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is at around 154.05. This morning it started around 155.05, but during the Tokyo session it dropped to about 153.80 due to the expectation that the New York Fed last week conducted rate checks to curb yen weakness, creating a flow of selling dollars and buying yen.
From the morning level, it’s about a 1 yen drop and will likely hand over to the overseas session. With cautious expectations of coordinated intervention by Japan and the U.S., this market may remain hard to rebound for a while. If it rebounds, there might be an opportunity to press it back down.
However, after the sharp drop, many participants are refraining from placing orders, so the order book is likely quite sparse now. Be careful of sudden rebounds.
Now, the key points for USD/JPY scalping tonight.
● Movement around the London market open around 17:00
● Movement after the U.S. Durable Goods Report at 22:30
● Movement around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)

Other notes…
・Watch headlines related to U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements near each market open plus the movement after the 22:30 U.S. Durable Goods data release. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” as long as you follow the theory, there should be no problem.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping” which focuses on shorting, may have opportunities due to caution around U.S.-Japan intervention causing resistance in the upside. If you wait for a small rebound and can sell above the mid-154s, you can enter a position.
With that, overseas trading is about to start soon!
Scalping often gives the impression that there are 24-hour opportunities because the potential profit per trade is small, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with higher volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (GMT summer: 16:00–; GMT winter: 17:00–)
・New York market open time (GMT summer: 22:00–; GMT winter: 23:00–)
Even immediately after U.S. data or events, volatility increases and there are many opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so always await a return to normal spreads before entering a trade.
Please always check the U.S. data and event schedule in advance. By understanding the time windows when opportunities arise, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. data or events. If you go against it, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Don’t make careless mistakes; absolutely not.
U.S. data and event schedules can be checked on the websites of brokerage firms and FX brokers.
Of course, there are many more points besides the three above, but I’ve covered the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
