Parameter settings for various indicators

In the past, I traded with discretionary trading and homemade EAs, so I did a lot of research.

Trading by hand in discretionary trading is also fine, but emotions tend to come into play.
Therefore, I converted various indicators into EAs and trade with automatic trading on/off..

I will list the parameter settings for the most reliable indicators that I use frequently.
If you have any suggestions on what might be good, please let me know.

＜Trend-type＞

VQ Parameter Settings
usdjpy　4,2,4,1
eurjpy　5,3,1,2
gbpjpy　7,3,2,2
eurusd　5,3,1,3

ADX Parameter Settings

ADXm　21
The usual default is 14, but there are many false signals, so I use 21.
I do not use ADX itself. If I use it, it’s 8.

MACD Parameter Settings
There are many varieties of this.
5-10,5　　Original
5-34,7　　Investment Gardens
6-19,9　　Aper
8-17,9　　Dinapoli
9-17,7　　Manning
12-26,9　　Aper
19-39,9　　Aper
19-39,12　Original
24-39,16　Original（Optimized on MT4 at M15）

If you use it like scalping, 5-10,5; for a long range, 19-39,9, or 19-39,12,
If you want faster signals (to catch tops and bottoms sooner), perhaps 9-17,7.
EAing and running multiple at once is also an option.

Bollinger Bands are normally 20 bars with 1, 2, 3 sigma (21 bars are viewed with SMA).


＜Oscillator-type＞

CCI, RSI, Stochastic Parameters

CCI　14（default）
Sometimes I use 21, but 14 is sufficient.
100,-100 overbought/oversold for range-bound reversal.

RSI　14（default）
To judge range, I use 9, sometimes 5.
Using 9, 60-40 overbought/oversold for range reversal.

Stochastic, this cannot be used well. It lags quickly and even on daily charts it lags, so I do not use it.
If used, perhaps for scalping, 5,3,3 (MT4 default).

SuperSignals　21,14（default）
Use as is in a range market.
In a trending market, it flickers on false signals, so treat it as a trend when it occurs and use contrarian trading.

If you convert all of these to EAs,
Trend-type indicators stay on at all times,
In range markets, to cancel the false signals of trend-type indicators, turn on oscillator-type indicators.
You can switch, but keeping trend-type on yields bigger gains.

As a side note,Regarding the speed of reversal signals,
SuperSignals, ADXm, VQ, MACD appear in that order.
By the way, in a trending market, SuperSignals is full of false signals, ADXm also has false signals, VQ is reliable.
MACD is the most reliable but sometimes very slow (5-10,5 is fast).
