【1/20 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is the overview of the Tokyo time today.
Currently the USD/JPY is around 158.00. This morning it started around 158.10, and during the Tokyo session there were some moves near the intraday value, but overall there was no clear direction and a small-range movement. With the Bank of Japan meeting approaching on the weekend, active trading seems to be pared back.
However, with escalating friction between the West and Greenland, a sharp market move could occur, so stay vigilant. Hopefully there is opportunity there.
Now, here are tonight's USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the 17:00 London market open
● Movements around the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)

Other notes…
・Be careful of statements warning of extreme yen weakness and rate-check reports

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping” has no major US indicators or events scheduled, and there is no particular market catalyst. Therefore, the key targets will be moves around each market open. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling as per the method should be fine. Given the current market conditions, the likelihood of currency intervention seems quite low… but what do you think?
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping” for shorts, continued from yesterday, could be worth attempting if the Greenland issue escalates further. The trigger would be forming a setup where you can sell near the 158 yen level.
Well then, overseas hours are about to start!
Because scalping aims for small profit margins, it might seem that there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC−4 in US daylight time / UTC−5 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC−4 in US daylight time / UTC−5 in US standard time)
Even immediately after US indicators or events are released, volatility tends to spike and opportunities arise. However, in the few minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to the normal spread.
Always check the US indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before US indicators or events. If you go against it, you’ll be hit hard. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US indicators and events schedule can be checked on each brokerage or FX broker's website.
Of course, there are many other points beyond the three above, but I’ve shared the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
