【1/19 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo-time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 157.80. This morning it started around 157.90, but during Tokyo time, amid U.S.-European trade tensions surrounding Greenland, dollar selling led, and around 10 o’clock Japan time it fell to around 157.40 (today’s Asia low).
However, dollar selling eased afterward, stabilizing with buying on dips, and it seems it will hand off to overseas traders at roughly the same level as the early morning.
Today is a U.S. holiday, so the New York market is closed.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near 17:00 London market open

Other notes..
・ New York market is closed due to U.S. holiday
・ Be aware of statements countering the strongest possible yen depreciation and rate-check reports

Tonight’s “1-minute interval scalping” is hard to target since the New York market is closed. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” don’t push too hard; after around the London market open, unless there’s significant movement, it may be fine to take a break. There is hope for movement at the London open due to the Greenland issue.
Also, a short-term “15-minute scalping” strategy could be worth trying if U.S.-European tensions intensify further due to Greenland issues. The entry point would be when you can sell around the upper-157s.
Now the overseas hours will start shortly!
Because scalping profits are small, it might seem there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. Focusing on periods with relatively high volatility can significantly reduce trading difficulty.
The times I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・ London market open time (UTC: 16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・ New York market open time (UTC: 22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
Volatility and many opportunities also occur immediately after U.S. indicators/events are released. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after spreads return to normal.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events calendar in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities may arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against it, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course, there are many other points besides these three, but I’ve talked about the essentials you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
