【1/9 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good job, everyone! Let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 157.65. The pair started this morning around 156.85, but during the Tokyo session it moved in a broad yen decline.
Later, the US employment data is due, and the mood for waiting is limited, with buying of the dollar ahead of strong data forecasts appearing.
From yesterday’s levels, it seems the pair will rise about 80 pips as we transition to the overseas session.
Now, here are the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 17:00
● Movements after the release of the US employment data and US housing starts at 22:30
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the US University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index release at 24:00
—–
● Be mindful of US officials’ statements
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements near market opens, plus the moves after the 22:30 US Employment Data and US Housing Starts, and the 24:00 UMich Consumer Sentiment release. For “1-minute chart scalping club” users, handling these as per theory should be fine.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping,” which focuses on short-side scalping, is seeing dollar buying in anticipation of strong US employment data forecasts, so today it’s best not to overextend. Tonight I’d like to focus on the “1-minute chart scalping.”
With that, thank you for your continued support today as well!
Scalping tends to evoke the impression that there are opportunities around every hour due to small target widths, but that’s not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce trading difficulty.
The time zones I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (US Daylight Time 16:00– / US Standard Time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (US Daylight Time 22:00– / US Standard Time 23:00–)
Volatility remains high immediately after US data/events, offering many opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread can widen, so the rule is to only enter after it returns to normal levels.
Always check the US data/event schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will appear helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before US data/events. If price moves against you, you could be taken to the stop-loss line in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US data/event schedules can be checked on broker or FX provider websites.
Of course, there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve described the minimum points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
