【1/8 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, a summary of Tokyo time today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 156.60. The pair started this morning around 156.70, but in the early Tokyo session, buoyed by the favorable results of the U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI last night, it continued the dollar-buying, yen-selling trend and rose to around 156.95 before 11:00 Japan time.
However, thereafter sentiment flipped to yen-buying, and the morning gains were a back-and-forth movement, and it seems the price will hand over to the overseas session around roughly the same level as this morning.
With the U.S. employment report due tomorrow, we probably cannot expect big moves tonight either... I want volatility...
Now, the USD/JPY scalping points for tonight.
● Movements around the London market open at 17:00
● Movements after the release of U.S. Initial Jobless Claims and U.S. Trade Balance at 22:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Watch for remarks from U.S. officials
Tonight's “1-minute time frame scalping” will focus on moves around each market open plus the moves after the 22:30 U.S. Initial Jobless Claims and U.S. Trade Balance releases. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” follow the theory and there should be no problem.
Also, the short-expert “15-minute scalping” is heavy on the upside since it could not reach the big level of 157 yen; trying it is an option. The entry point should be after a small pullback, aiming to sell above the 156 mid level.
Now, international time is about to start!
Scalping gains are often thought to be small and that there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting times with higher volatility, you can significantly lower the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (U.S. daylight saving time 16:00 / U.S. standard time 17:00)
・New York market open time (U.S. daylight saving time 22:00 / U.S. standard time 23:00)
Volatility increases and opportunities arise immediately after U.S. indicators and events release. However, in the first minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so it is essential to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Please always check the U.S. indicators and event schedule in advance. Understanding when opportunities will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators or events. If the market moves against you, you could be taken to the stop-out line in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
U.S. indicators and events schedules can be checked on the websites of various brokerages and FX firms.
Of course, there are many other points beyond these three, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should hold when scalping USD/JPY.
