【1/6 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of today’s Tokyo time.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 156.40. This morning, USD/JPY started around 156.30, but in the early Tokyo session, following the Nikkei’s sharp rise, there was a yen-selling trend, and after 9:30 JST it rose to around 156.80.
However, later, perhaps due to the weak U.S. ISM Manufacturing PMI yesterday, the yen-selling momentum strengthened, and a “reach and retreat” move occurred, and it is likely to hand over to overseas trading at roughly the same level as the morning. It looks like the upside will be heavy again today.
Now, here are the USD/JPY scalping points for tonight.
● Movements near the 17:00 London market open
● Movements near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to yen weakness
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” has no major U.S. indicators or events scheduled, and there isn’t any special material in the market, so the movements around each market open may be the targets. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” if you handle it according to the theory, there should be no problem.
Also, for the short-only “15-minute scalping,” at around 157 there is resistance, so it might be worth trying. The entry point would be after a bit of a pullback, aiming to sell above the 156 mid-level.
With that, overseas time will begin shortly!
Because scalping aims for small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively higher volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 US daylight time / 17:00 US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 US daylight time / 23:00 US standard time)
Volatility increases and opportunities are abundant immediately after U.S. indicators/events are released. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against the trend, you’ll be met with heavy losses in an instant. Carelessness is not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course, there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
