[The Fear of FX] The Illusion that Effort Pays Off
"Effort is always rewarded"
Believe these words,
and those who have been diligent end up losing heart later.
Because reality is,
more people are unrewarded despite their efforts.
This is harsh, but it’s the truth.
Even though you’re努力してるのに、なぜ結果が出ないのか
開いている毎日 chart
reading many books and watching many YouTube videos
cutting sleep to study
still you can’t win.
Then you start thinking like this.
- Maybe I don’t have talent
- Maybe I’m not努力 enough
- People who succeed are special
But the problem isn’t there.
What many people fall into is
the feeling of “I’m努力ing” without real impact.
There are two main types of effort
This is the most important part.
Effort can be broadly divided into 2 types.
- Effort that won’t be rewarded
- Effort that will be rewarded
And cruelly,
about 90% of people in the world choose the former.
Characteristics of unrewarded effort
This is what I used to do, too.
- Spend a lot of time
- Keep gathering information
- Look for reasons you’re not winning outside yourself
- Keep changing methods
- Procrastinate with “I’ll understand someday”
On the surface, it looks serious and conscientious.
But this is,
the effort that most distances you from the results.
Because it’s not actions for winning,
it’s actions to feel safe.
You fail when you get drunk on your own努力
People are scary.
Because facing it seriously is scary,
they protect themselves with the fact that they’re “努力ing.”
- It’s OK because I’m studying
- It’s OK because I’m gathering information
- It’s OK because I looked at charts again today
But the market doesn’t value any of that.
What gets evaluated is
the actions that directly affect the results.
The most common mistake in FX
In FX, this is especially common.
“If only I had more knowledge, I’d win.”
No.
Knowledge isn’t a weapon once you cross a certain line.
More important than knowledge is
- Set rules
- Keep the rules
- Repeat the same actions
These three.
If you skip these,
no amount of knowledge will help.
What is correct effort
So what is rewarded effort?
It’s simple,
“Keep a consistent, unshakable action toward stable results.”
It’s not flashy
It doesn’t look good on social media
It doesn’t make you rich quickly
But it lasts reliably.
Concrete examples of correct effort
For example in FX,
- Fix your lot size
- Limit the number of trades
- Narrow entry criteria to three
- Evaluate by whether you protected yourself rather than win/loss
Honestly, this is boring.
That’s why most people don’t do it.
But,
everyone who survives does these things.
Why is “correct effort” so dull
The reason is simple.
Correct effort
leaves no room for emotions.
People tend to choose the direction that stirs emotions.
- one-shot reversals
- huge profits
- make money fastest
But that is all an illusion of努力 that looks like effort.
Common traits of those whose努力 doesn’t pay off
People who don’t get rewarded despite努力 are
- impatient
- desperate for quick results
- comparing themselves to others
At this state,
any effort becomes distorted.
With misaligned direction, you’re flooring the accelerator only.
Bottom line: effort is, in fact, rewarded
After reading this far,
you might think, “So effort is meaningless?”
That’s not it.
Effort is rewarded.
But only the right kind of effort.
This isn’t a pretty phrase.
The market is a realm where lies and pity don’t work.
That’s why,
- correct actions
- correct sequence
- correct consistency
are all that reliably lead to results.
Finally
If now you
- are努力ing but not seeing results
- feel like努力 is going in circles
- wonder if you should continue
If you think this,
that isn’t “not enough effort.”
Your effort’s direction is off.
What to fix isn’t quantity.
It’s the method.
The moment you switch to correct effort,
even with the same amount of time, the results change.
Whether you turn the phrase “Effort is rewarded” into reality
or keep it as an illusion depends
on your choice right now.
