What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is a dummy text used in the printing and typesetting industry. Since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book, Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the transition into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. In the 1960s, it gained popularity with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently has been incorporated into desktop publishing software such as Aldus PageMaker.
