【12/22 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thanks for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 157.40. This morning the pair started around 157.50, but during Tokyo time, following the reaction to the Ueda-led Bank of Japan press conference last weekend, the dollar’s strength against the yen cooled a bit, resulting in a somewhat heavy upside.
However, there has been no aggressive move to break below the 157 range, and it remains in a high-price zone. It is likely to hand over to the overseas session at roughly the same level as in the morning.
Starting today, we enter the Christmas week. If the expectation spreads that intervention during Christmas is difficult, there could be further yen weakness. Attention to the coming overseas market participants is important.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 17:00
● Movements near the New York market open around 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be wary of headlines related to yen weakness containment
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” has no notable U.S. indicators or events scheduled, so the moves around market opens will likely be the target. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling as per theory should be fine.
Also, the short-only “15-minute scalping” may see further yen weakness if intervention during Christmas becomes difficult, so today we should not overextend. Tonight I want to focus on the “1-minute scalping.”
With that, overseas markets are about to open!
Scalping tends to be thought of as offering small profit per trade, and that there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By aiming for times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during US daylight time / 17:00 during US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during US daylight time / 23:00 during US standard time)
After the release of U.S. indicators and events, volatility remains high and opportunities abound. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the U.S. indicators and event schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities come around allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, positioning immediately before U.S. indicators and events should be absolutely avoided. If you move against it, you could be wiped out in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators and event schedules can be checked on the websites of each securities or FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points besides the above three, but I’ve outlined the minimum points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.

Actually, I have completely released one of my trading methods, “15-minute scalping,” for free. I hope it helps, even a little (completely free).
