[12/16 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points]
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do Dollar/Yen scalping again tonight!
First, overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently, the Dollar/Yen is at around 154.75. This morning it started around 155.20, but during Tokyo time, with the Bank of Japan policy meeting this weekend expected to announce an additional rate hike, the upside is heavy and the yen is favored, yet with the US employment report coming tonight, the downside is widening only gradually. It doesn’t look like it will move sharply downward.
From the morning level, about 45 pips lower, it looks like a handover to overseas trading time.
The image is a return-move selling strategy, but will overseas traders push further lower after this?
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Moves near the London market open around 17:00
● Moves after the release of the US Employment Statistics and US Retail Sales at 22:30
● Moves near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Moves after the release of US Manufacturing PMI and US Non-Manufacturing PMI at 23:45
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to US-Japan policy rate expectations
Tonight's "1-minute scalping" will target the moves around each market open, plus the moves after the 22:30 US data releases and the 23:45 PMI releases. For users of the "1-minute scalping club," if you handle it according to the theory, there will be no problem. With ample material and a spirited approach!
Also, the “15-minute scalping”, which focuses on short positions, may be heavy on the upside due to expectations of an additional BOJ rate hike this weekend; it could be worth attempting. The setup would be when you can sell around the 155 level.
Now, overseas trading time is about to start soon!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small targets, and thus always a 24-hour opportunity, but that is not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time zones I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC: 16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC: 22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
After major US data and event announcements, volatility remains high and opportunities are abundant. However, in the minutes immediately after the announcements, spreads can widen, so it is essential to enter only after they return to the normal spread.
Always check the US data and event schedules in advance. Knowing the time periods when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, positioning immediately before US data and events should be avoided at all costs. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US data and event schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage and FX dealer.
Of course, there are other points too, but I’ve explained the minimal points you should keep in mind when scalping the USD/JPY.
