【12/15 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】

Thank you for your hard work! Now let's do dollar/yen scalping again tonight!

First, an overview of the Tokyo session today.

Currently, the dollar/yen is around 155.10. This morning it started around 155.85, but during Tokyo time, with expectations that an additional rate hike would be announced at this week’s Bank of Japan policy meeting and that a hawkish stance would continue into next year, the dollar-selling and yen-buying momentum accelerated.

However, since the additional BOJ rate hike was probably well priced in this week, overseas players also adjusted their positions before the Christmas holidays.

From the morning level, it is expected to drop about 75 pips as we head into the overseas session. This morning the upside has become quite heavy.

Now, the points for tonight's dollar/yen scalping.

● Movement around the London market open around 17:00

● Movement after the US NY Fed manufacturing index release at 22:30

● Movement around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)

● Pay attention to comments from U.S. officials

● Pay attention to headlines related to U.S.-Japan policy rates

Tonight's "1-minute Scalping" will target moves around market opens plus the moves after 22:30 when the US NY Fed manufacturing index is released. For users of the "1-minute Scalping Club," handling as per theory should be fine.

Also, the short-only "15-minute Scalping" shows considerable upside resistance due to expectations of additional BOJ rate hikes and overseas position adjustments, presenting potential opportunities. If you can wait for a small pullback and can sell around the mid-155s, I will enter the trades.

With that, overseas session will start soon!

Because the potential profit per trade in scalping is small, it is easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.

The time windows I am targeting are near the London market open and near the New York market open.

・London market open time (16:00 to 17:00 during US daylight time / 17:00 to 18:00 during US standard time)

・New York market open time (22:00 to 23:00 during US daylight time / 23:00 to 24:00 during US standard time)

Even immediately after U.S. data releases and events, volatility rises and opportunities increase. However, in the minutes immediately after the release, spreads may widen, so always re-enter only after returning to the normal spread.

Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. By knowing the times when opportunities arise, you can efficiently build profits.

Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Do not make careless mistakes, absolutely.

The U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities company and FX broker.

Of course there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve talked about the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping the dollar/yen.
