【12/9 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 156.00. This morning it started around 155.85, but with the FOMC later today in the U.S., a watchful mood is expected during Tokyo hours. It seems likely to carry over to the overseas session at roughly the same level as this morning.
This week, a rate cut is expected at three consecutive FOMC meetings, but expectations are growing that the pace of easing will slow next year, so USD/JPY is unlikely to collapse sharply.
Also, following a strong earthquake near the eastern coast of Aomori Prefecture, some views are that expectations for Bank of Japan rate hikes have somewhat diminished.
Now, here are the USD/JPY scalping points for this evening.
● Movements around around the London market open
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the US JOLTS job openings and the US leading economic indicators release at 24:00
—–
● Pay attention to headlines related to U.S. and Japan policy rates
Tonight’s “1-minute scalping” targets movements near market opens, plus moves after the 24:00 releases of the US JOLTS job openings and the US leading indicator. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling them according to theory should be fine.
Also, the “15-minute scalping” for shorts remains in a wait-and-see mood ahead of the U.S. FOMC, so USD/JPY is not expected to fall sharply; please don’t overextend yourself today. I plan to focus on the “1-minute scalping.”
Now, overseas markets are about to begin!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small profit targets and thus many 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce trading difficulty.
The time windows I target are around the London market open and the New York market open.
• London market open time (U.S. daylight time 16:00– / U.S. standard time 17:00–)
• New York market open time (U.S. daylight time 22:00– / U.S. standard time 23:00–)
Even immediately after U.S. data and events, volatility remains high and opportunities abound. However, in the minutes immediately after releases, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the U.S. indicator and event schedule in advance. By knowing when opportunities will arise, you can accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators and events. If you go against it, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable.
U.S. indicators and event schedules can be checked on the websites of various brokerage firms and FX providers.
Of course, there are other points as well, but I have shared the minimum points you should hold when scalping USD/JPY.
