【12/2 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 155.70. This morning it started around 155.45, but during the Tokyo session it continued the late session flow from New York, with a bias toward dollar buying and yen selling.
It rose to around 155.75 just after 10:00 Japan time, but as it approached the 156 level, the narrowing of the U.S.-Japan interest rate differential was anticipated, making it feel slightly heavier.
From the morning level, about a 25-pip rise would likely pass the baton to the overseas session.
Now, here are the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 17:00
● Movements near the New York market open around 23:00 (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be mindful of headlines related to U.S. and Japan policy rates
Tonight's "1-minute scalping" has no scheduled U.S. indicators or events, so there isn't any special market catalyst. The key opportunities will be around the market opens. For users of the "1-minute scalping club," handling it as per theory should be fine. Also, Bowman's Fed Vice Chairman's remarks are scheduled, but since it's during the blackout period, it’s okay to skip them.
Similarly, the "15-minute scalping" strategy for short selling only concentrates around the 156 level, where the narrowing of the U.S.-Japan rate differential is anticipated, making the upside heavy and offering chances. If you can wait for a slight pullback and then form a setup to sell around 156, you can enter.
With that, overseas trading hours are about to begin!
Since the profit target for scalping is small, it often seems there are 24-hour opportunities, but that's not the case. By targeting periods with relatively higher volatility, you can significantly lower the difficulty of trading.
The time zones I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC-4 in US daylight time / UTC-5 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC-4 in US daylight time / UTC-5 in US standard time)
After the release of U.S. indicators and events, volatility increases and opportunities are plentiful. However, in the few minutes right after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to take positions only after they return to normal spreads.
Please always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing the time windows when chances arise allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before the release of U.S. indicators and events. If the market moves against you, you can’t stop the losses. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course, there are many other points, but I’ve explained the essential points you should cover when scalping USD/JPY.
