[11/26 Dollar/Yen Scalp Points]
Good job, everyone! Let’s go with the Dollar/Yen scalp tonight as well!
First, the Tokyo time overview for today.
The current USD/JPY is around 156.15. This morning it started around 156.00, but during Tokyo time there were reports that “the Bank of Japan may tighten policy as early as next month,” which caused it to drop to around 155.65 at one point.
Nevertheless, it later moved back above the 156 level and is expected to carry over to the overseas session near earlier levels.
This week is shortened due to the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday starting tomorrow, making aggressive moves more difficult, and the 156 mid-level has become a heavier area after today’s drop.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open at around 17:00
● Movements after the release of the U.S. Initial Jobless Claims and Durable Goods Orders at 22:30
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Pay attention to headlines related to U.S.-Japan policy interest rate expectations
Tonight’s “1-minute scalping” will likely target moves around each market open plus the moves after the 22:30 U.S. data releases. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” following standard rules should be fine.
Also, the 15-minute scalping strategy, which is short-selling focused, faces limited momentum ahead of Thanksgiving, making the 156 mid-level a heavier area, so considering taking a position is reasonable. The entry point would be when you can’t sell unless above 156, perhaps.
Now, overseas markets are about to start!
Scalping often gives the impression of abundant opportunities due to small target profits, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with higher volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The timeframes I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open times (UTC: 16:00 during U.S. EDT / 17:00 during U.S. Standard Time)
・New York market open times (UTC: 22:00 during U.S. EDT / 23:00 during U.S. Standard Time)
Immediately after U.S. indicators and events are announced, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the minutes right after the announcement, spreads may widen, so it is essential to enter only after the spread returns to normal.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to build profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators or events are released. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant, hitting your stop loss. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
U.S. indicators and events schedules can be checked on the websites of each broker or FX provider.
Of course, there are many other points beyond these three, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should grasp when scalping USD/JPY.
