【11/24 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Let’s go with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 156.60. The pair started this morning around 156.45, but during Tokyo hours there was no clear direction due to a holiday, resulting in small moves.
It seems we will hand over to the overseas session around roughly the same levels as this morning.
Since the end of last week, USD/JPY has been a bit of a pullback, but the yen-selling trend remains, I think. However, this week headlines related to BOJ interventions should be watched carefully.
Now, tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements near 17:00 London market open
● Movements near 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be cautious of BOJ intervention headlines
● Be cautious of headlines related to the U.S. and Japan policy rates
Tonight’s “1-minute scalping” will have no major data or events from the U.S., so the key points will be the movements near market opens. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” following the theory should pose no problems.
Also, the “15-minute scalping” for shorts, while the Ien trend remains bearish, near the 157 mid-level there is a sense of intervention caution, so it may be worth trying. The entry would be when you can form a selling setup above 157.
Now soon the overseas session will begin!
Because the profit target for scalping is small, it might seem there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (UTC-4 during U.S. daylight saving / UTC+0 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open times (UTC-4 during U.S. daylight saving / UTC-5 during U.S. standard time)
After immediate releases of U.S. indicators or events, volatility remains high and opportunities are plentiful. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after the spreads have returned to normal.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities occur helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators or events. If you go against them, you can’t help but be hit hard. It can wipe out your stop loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities company or FX broker.
Of course there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping the USD/JPY pair.
