【11/13 USDJPY Scalp Points】
Good work everyone! Let’s go with USD/JPY scalp tonight as well!
First, from today’s Tokyo time briefing.
Currently, USDJPY is around 154.40. This morning it started around 154.75, and during Tokyo time it briefly touched the 155 range, a level that served as a milestone yesterday, showing resilience. However, toward the end, there was a slight buy of USD and selling of JPY, indicating a modest corrective trend.
The U.S. government shutdown, the longest on record at 43 days, has been lifted and things are temporarily settled, but it seems there is growing caution ahead of upcoming key U.S. economic indicators. First, we should wait for the release schedule of major U.S. indicators.
From the early level, it is expected to drop about 35 pips as it hands over to overseas sessions.
Now, here are tonight’s USDJPY scalp points.
● Movements near the London market open
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Pay attention to headlines related to the U.S. government shutdown
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” has no scheduled U.S. indicators or events, so there isn’t any particular material in the market; the moves around each market open will likely be the targets. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling it according to theory should be fine. Also, although the U.S. government shutdown has finally been lifted, the release of the planned “U.S. initial jobless claims” and “U.S. consumer price index” today has been postponed.
The short-only “15-minute scalping” is showing a bit of a corrective move due to caution ahead of upcoming major U.S. indicators, so there may be opportunities. If a small pullback occurs and you can sell just before 155, that would be the setup.
Thank you for your continued support today!
Because scalping aims for small profit margins, one might think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with fairly high volatility, you can drastically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (during U.S. Daylight Time 16:00 ~ / U.S. Standard Time 17:00 ~)
・New York market open times (during U.S. Daylight Time 22:00 ~ / U.S. Standard Time 23:00 ~)
Immediately after U.S. indicators or events are released, volatility rises and there are many opportunities. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after spreads return to normal.
Please always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. By knowing the time windows when opportunities arise, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, positioning immediately before U.S. indicators/events should be avoided at all costs. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
The U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of brokers and FX firms.
Of course there are many other points, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USDJPY.
