【11/11 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let’s keep trading dollar-yen scalping tonight as well!
First, from today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, the dollar-yen is around 154.20. This morning it started around 154.10, but in early Tokyo session as moves toward ending the U.S. government shutdown progressed, it rose to around 154.50.
However, even with the reopening of the U.S. government, indicators and other data are not all in place yet, and we need to assess the long-term shutdown impact, so prices later weighed on the upside. In the end, it seems the level will be close to the morning around the time of the overseas session.
Now, the points for tonight’s dollar-yen scalping.
● Movements near the 17:00 London market open
● Movements near the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to the U.S. government shutdown
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” has no scheduled U.S. indicators or events, so there isn’t any particular material driving the market; the moves near market opens will likely be the targets. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handle according to theory without issues.
Also, the “15-minute scalping” which focuses on short positions only continues its big flow of dollar buying and yen selling, making 154 to the high-153s look like a solid bottom, so go easy today. Tonight I plan to focus on “1-minute scalping.”
With that, overseas trading session will begin shortly!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, one might think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By aiming for periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC: 16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC: 22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators or events are released, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the few minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to act only after it returns to normal spreads.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. By knowing when opportunities will come, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. indicators or events. If you go against the market, it can be devastating. You’ll be taken to your stop-loss in an instant. Carelessness is not allowed, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on the websites of each broker or FX provider.
Of course, there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should cover when scalping the dollar-yen.
