【11/6 Dollar/Yen Scalp Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let’s do the Dollar/Yen scalp again tonight!
First, a summary of the Tokyo session today.
Currently, the Dollar/Yen is around 153.95. This morning it started around 154.05, but during Tokyo time there wasn’t much movement. The ongoing U.S. government shutdown is weighing on the upside, leading to a slight dollar selling bias.
However, it didn’t surge sharply, and the gains from last night’s U.S. data have merely retraced. It seems to be handing off to the overseas session at roughly the same level as in the early morning.
Tonight there aren’t any major catalysts, so I hope price doesn’t range. Move in either direction is fine—just move!
Now, the points for this evening’s Dollar/Yen scalping.
● Movements around the London market open
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to the U.S. government shutdown
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” has no scheduled U.S. indicators or events, so there isn’t a particular driver in the market. I expect the opportunities to come around each market open. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handle it according to the standard approach. Also, as always, today’s scheduled release of the “U.S. initial jobless claims” has been postponed.
Additionally, the short-only “15-minute scalp” remains slightly heavy on the upside due to the prolonged U.S. government shutdown, but dollar buying interest still remains strong, so today we’ll refrain from overdoing it. Tonight I’d like to focus on the “1-minute scalping.”
With that, overseas time is about to begin!
Because scalp targets have small profit margins, it’s often thought there are 24-hour opportunities. That is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the trading difficulty.
The time frames I’m targeting are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC-4 during U.S. summer time / UTC-5 during U.S. winter time)
・New York market open time (UTC-4 during U.S. summer time / UTC-5 during U.S. winter time)
Volatility spikes and opportunities appear immediately after U.S. indicators and events release. However, in the first few minutes after a release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spread levels.
Be sure to check the U.S. indicators and event schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities are likely helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators and events. If you go against the trend, you’ll be overwhelmed. Don’t make careless mistakes, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX broker.
Of course there are many other points beyond the three above, but I’ve spoken about the minimum points you should grasp when scalping the Dollar/Yen.
