【11/5 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Good job everyone! Let's do Dollar-Yen scalping again tonight!
First, the overview for today’s Tokyo time.
Currently, dollar-yen is around 153.50. This morning it started around 153.60, but in the early Tokyo session there was caution about an excessive stock rally, and after 10:30 a.m. Japan time it fell to around 152.95.
However, it then rebounded and moved in a “move-then-return” pattern. Those who sold aggressively got wrecked... It seems to be handing off to overseas time at roughly the same level as the morning.
As I mentioned yesterday, the flow has changed somewhat, and both stocks and FX may be entering a consolidation phase.
Tonight there are the U.S. ADP Employment Report and the U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing Index. With many U.S. public indicators postponed, private indicators are drawing more attention.
Now, the points for tonight's dollar-yen scalping.
● Movements near 17:00 when the London market opens
● Movements after the 22:15 “U.S. ADP Employment Report” release
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the 24:00 release of the U.S. ISM Non-Manufacturing Index
———
● Beware of headlines related to the U.S. government shutdown
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will likely target movements around each market open, plus the moves after the 22:15 “U.S. ADP Employment” and 24:00 ISM Non-Manufacturing releases. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the short-only “15-minute Scalping” could have opportunities, as dollar-yen may be entering a consolidation phase including stocks. If you wait for a small pullback and can sell around the mid-153s, I will enter then.
With that, overseas time is about to begin!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities. That’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time I aim for is around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (DST 16:00~ / Standard Time 17:00~)
・New York market open times (DST 22:00~ / Standard Time 23:00~)
Even immediately after U.S. data/events release, volatility increases and there are many opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities may arise helps you accumulate profits more efficiently.
Also, positioning right before U.S. indicators/events releases should be avoided at all costs. If you go against the trend, losses can be severe. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators/events schedules can be checked on each brokerage or FX firm’s website.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve shared the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.

Actually, I have publicly released one of my trading methods, the “15-minute Scalping,” completely for free. I hope it will be of some help (totally free).
