【11/4 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Hope you’re doing well! Alright, let’s do some Dollar/Yen scalping tonight as well!
First, from today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is at the 153.40 level. This morning it started around 154.20, but in the early Tokyo session it rose to the mid-154s, and once it seemed heavy, the trend shifted to selling the dollar and buying the yen. It has fallen by about 1 yen with little recovery.
Although it hovered around the 154 level in the latter half of last week, it took time to rise further, so profit-taking selling appeared. The flow may be entering a corrective phase.
From the morning level, about 80 pips drop will be handed over to the overseas session.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the 17:00 London market open
● Movements around the 23:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 23:30)
● Movements after the 24:00 US JOLTS Job Openings release
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to the new Kishida administration
● Be cautious of headlines related to potential US government shutdown
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around each market open plus movements after the 24:00 US JOLTS release. For “1-minute chart scalping club” members, handling according to theory should be fine. However, since the “US JOLTS” release may be delayed, pay attention to related headlines as well.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping”—a short-term only approach—may have a possibility that USD/JPY is entering a corrective phase, offering opportunities. If we wait for a small pullback and can sell near the 154 level, we will enter. I’d like to be a bit cautious and patient.
With that, thank you for your continued support today as well!
Because scalping aims for small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are opportunities 24 hours a day, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can dramatically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time frames I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight saving time 16:00– / US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (US daylight saving time 22:00– / US standard time 23:00–)
Even immediately after US indicators/events release, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after returning to the normal spread.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to build profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before US indicators/events releases. If you go against the trend, it’s painful. You can be taken to stop-loss in an instant. Carelessness is not acceptable, absolutely.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course there are many other points, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
