【11/3 USD/JPY Scalp Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let's go with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo time market overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 154.20. This morning it started around 154.00, but during Tokyo time, due to a holiday with no Tokyo traders present, it moved in a narrow range of about 20 pips.
However, as it approaches the 153 yen level, buying interest seems strong, so the trend of buying USD and selling JPY may continue. In the overseas session, is the outlook still bullish? From the morning level, it looks to rise about 20 pips into the overseas session.
Today the United States enters standard time (winter time). Be aware that indicator release times shift by one hour.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movement around the London market open (around 17:00 local time)
● Movement after the US CPI release (around 22:30)
● Movement around the New York market open (around 23:00; Dow opens at 23:30)
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to the new high-price administration
● Be cautious of headlines related to the US government shutdown
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target moves near each market open plus the moves after the 24:00 release of the US ISM Manufacturing PMI. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” following the theory should be fine. Note that the US shifts to winter time today, so indicator release times are one hour off—be careful.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping,” which is short-selling focused, is likely to continue the USD-buying, JPY-selling flow, so don’t push too hard today. I plan to focus on the “1-minute scalping” tonight.
Now, overseas markets will start shortly!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, we might think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By aiming for periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I’m aiming for are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight time 16:00– / US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (US daylight time 22:00– / US standard time 23:00–)
Even right after the US data releases, volatility remains high and opportunities are abundant. However, in the minutes immediately after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the US data and event schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will arise helps you build profits efficiently.
Also, please absolutely avoid positioning right before US data/events. If price moves against you, it can hit your stop loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US data/event schedules can be checked on each brokerage or FX broker’s website.
Of course there are other points beyond the three above, but I’ve outlined the minimum essentials you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
