[10/14 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Thank you for your hard work! Okay, let's trade USD/JPY scalping this evening as well!
First, from today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 151.80. This morning it started around 152.20, and during the Tokyo session there were moments of strength in the early hours, but the Nikkei average weakened, leading to a risk-off dollar buying flow.
Around 15:00 Japan time, it fell to around 151.60, retracing the gains made during overseas trading yesterday. From the morning level, about 40 pips drop, with a handover to overseas time likely.
It feels like there could be another push to sell rallies.
Now, tonight's USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to the Prime Minister-designate election
● Be cautious of headlines related to the US government shutdown
● Be cautious of statements from US officials
● Be cautious of earnings announcements from major US corporations
Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping” has no major US indicators or events scheduled, so the targets will likely be movements around each market open. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling as per theory should be fine. Also, be a bit cautious about timing of US officials' remarks.
Additionally, the short-only “15-minute chart scalping” is in a situation where risk-off dollar buying tends to happen due to stock market declines, so there may be opportunities. If a small pullback allows selling around the 152.00 level, we'll enter the trade.
Now, overseas markets will start shortly!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it is often thought there are opportunities around 24 hours, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC: around 16:00 in US daylight time / around 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC: around 22:00 in US daylight time / around 23:00 in US standard time)
Volatility increases and opportunities arise even immediately after the release of US indicators and events. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter after they return to the normal spread.
Always check the US indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities may arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events. If you go against the trend, you’ll be hard-pressed. You can be taken to the stop-loss line in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
The US indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities company or FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points beyond the three above, but I’ve explained the minimum points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
