【10/7 Yen-Dollar Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Now let's do Yen-Dollar scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 150.60. This morning it started around 150.30, and during Tokyo time there were some limited profit-taking pressures, but the overall trend has been toward buying dollars and selling yen.
In addition to the continued yen selling on the back of the weekend Liberal Democratic Party leadership election results, there are signs of positive momentum toward ending the US government shutdown, which seems to be supporting dollar buying as well.
From the morning levels, about 30 pips higher, it looks set to transition to overseas time. There are occasional yen-strengthening warnings, but for now the market largely ignores them.
Now, here are tonight's USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open near 16:00
● Movements around the New York market open near 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to US government shutdown
● Be cautious of headlines related to new Liberal Democratic Party president
● Be cautious of headlines related to yen weakness warnings
Tonight's "1-minute chart scalping" has no major US indicators or events scheduled, so the trades will likely target moves around each market Open. For users of the "1-minute scalping club," handling as per theory should be fine. Also, pay a little attention to the timing of statements from US officials.
Also, the short-only "15-minute scalping" is not ideal today, as yen selling continues on the back of the weekend Liberal Democratic Party leadership election results and positive momentum toward ending the US government shutdown, leading to dollar buying. It would be wise not to push it today. Entry is better avoided.
Thank you again for today!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small profit margins, so one might think there are opportunities 24 hours a day, but that's not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time I target is around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 US daylight time / 17:00 US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 US daylight time / 23:00 US standard time)
Even immediately after US data releases, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread may widen, so it is essential to trade only after it returns to normal spreads.
Please always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events. If you go against it, you will be blown out in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of various brokerage firms and FX brokers.
Of course, there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
