【9/25 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Let’s continue with USD/JPY scalping tonight as well!
First, the overview of Tokyo time today.
The USD/JPY is around 148.75. This morning it started around 148.80, but during Tokyo time it moved within the high range after yesterday’s sharp rise, with profits being taken and the trend continuing.
When it dips, buying comes in, and the dollar-buying momentum continues. It seems likely to hand over to overseas hours at roughly the morning level.
By the way, the factors behind yesterday’s sharp rise in USD/JPY were: the 10-year US Treasury yield widening its rise, and the Fed remaining cautious about rate cuts. Well, anything that moves is fine, isn’t it?
From a price perspective, it’s around the upper end of the range formed this month, so selling too easily might be a bit risky.
Now, the key points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the release of US initial jobless claims, US Q2 GDP, and US durable goods orders at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of US existing home sales at 23:00
—–
● Be mindful of statements by U.S. officials
● Be mindful of headlines related to the Liberal Democratic Party leadership race
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements near each market open, plus the moves after 21:30 releases of US initial jobless claims, US Q2 GDP, and US durable orders, and after 23:00 US existing home sales. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling according to theory should pose no problem. Also, pay a little attention to the scheduled times of U.S. official comments.
Also, the short-only “15-minute scalping” shows that when it falls, buying comes in and the dollar-buying momentum continues, so today it’s wiser not to push too hard. It’s prudent to refrain from entries.
With that, thank you for today as well!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are opportunities 24 hours a day, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce trading difficulty.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (during US daylight time 16:00 / during US standard time 17:00)
・New York market open time (during US daylight time 22:00 / during US standard time 23:00)
Even immediately after US indicators/events are released, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the first few minutes after a release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after returning to the normal spread.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule beforehand. By knowing the times when opportunities come, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events announcements. If you go against it, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
The US indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities/fx broker.
Of course, there are many other points beyond these three, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
