【9/23 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here's today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 147.50. The pair started the morning around 147.70, but Tokyo is a holiday for the autumnal equinox, so the market was closed in Japan and price action was sparse.
Later in the overseas session, US PMI and, a bit later, remarks by Fed Chair Jerome Powell are scheduled, so we hope volatility will pick up.
From the morning level, we may see about a 20-pip drop as we transition to the overseas session. Last night overseas, USD buying cooled off, so upside may be limited today. Slightly bearish outlook, perhaps.
Now, here are tonight's USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movement near the London market open
● Movement near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movement after the release of “US Manufacturing PMI [Flash] / US Services PMI [Flash]”
—–
● Be mindful of US official statements
● Be mindful of headlines related to the Liberal Democratic Party leadership race
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” aims to accumulate profits from movements around each market open plus the post-22:45 PMI releases. For users of the “1-minute chart scalping club,” handling as per theory should be fine. Also, pay a bit of attention to the scheduled times of US official statements.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping” which focuses on shortsOnly has a likely upside pressure cooled by yesterday’s overseas session, so there may be opportunities. If a slight pullback occurs and you can sell around the upper 147s, we’ll enter.
With that, please take care today as well!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it can be easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 in US daylight saving / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 in US daylight saving / 23:00 in US standard time)
Volatility increases and opportunities rise right after US indicators/events are released. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread can widen, so the rule is to act only after it returns to the normal spread.
Please always check the schedule of US indicators/events in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events release. If you go against it, you’ll be wiped out in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each securities firm/FX broker.
Of course there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve explained the essential points you should cover when scalping USD/JPY.
